The course will involve:

  • Overview of the history of illustration
  • Overview of prolific fashion and hat illustrators and their styles
  • Guided teaching through a workbook (sent prior to class) which covers Face Proportions, Simple Silhouettes, Feature Curves, Cut Outs, Hat Silhouettes
  • Encouragement to try different styles of famous illustrators
  • Time to play and create your own signature style from what you have learned
  • Information on further illustration resources

Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Required  – Any level

Student Supplies (Minus sewing kit):

  • Fine tip drawing pens
  • Scissors
  • Pens and pencils
  • Glue (glue stick)
  • Cutting mat (not essential you could use scissors)
  • Scalpel or rotary cutter (not essential you could use scissors)
  • Felt tips (optional)
  • Crayons (optional)
  • Tracing paper
  • Watercolours
  • Fine and medium paint brush
