About the Workshop

Materials will be provided, and no previous experience is necessary as Jenny will provide step by step demonstrations as well as personal tuition to help you produce the perfect truly unique holiday wreath.

The workshop will address wiring techniques, examples of finished wreaths and the various styles that can be achieved.  You will be guided through the various stages and your wreath layered up to create a final design which is totally unique to you.  There will be lots of exciting foliage; eucalyptus, pinus, pussywillow, ivy, birch, ruscus, grevillea, eryngium as well as those favourites; fir cones, dried hydrangeas, lotus pods, cinnamon, split limes, twigs, pheasant and peacock feathers.  We hope this will enable those of you who have done wreaths with us before to take your front doors to the next level!  Don’t forget there is always the option to make a wreath table arrangement as an alternative.

Spend time with like-minded people whilst learning a new skill. Take some time out for yourself – come alone or with a friends and have some festive fun with us! We promise you an enjoyable workshop full of ideas, trade secrets and inspiration.

There will be plenty of instruction, help and encouragement and of course lashings of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and ‘Christmas Fayre’ for your delight and to chase those winter blues away there will be a glass of ‘Mulled Wine’ or ‘Mulled Apple’ to get Christmas started.

How to Book for a Group of 8 Friends

Choose to book a ‘Group Session’ for you and your friends, for this you will need 8 people, we have saved certain sessions to just be for groups and you can add 1 to the cart in its entirety, please note this is for 8 people and the total cost is £600.  Alternatively you can book 8 individual places on an open session should all 8 be available, this will then be exclusively for the 8 of you.

Should you have more than 8 in your group (we can accommodate up to 10) or if you would like to schedule a private session outside our current offering, please get in touch Jenny@jrmillinery.co.uk

How to Book for yourself or less than 8 Friends

Choose to book 1 or more places on an individual open session, this will be filled with other like minded students.  Price per person is £75

Please note if you want to come as a group of 8 we suggest booking a group session, so places are not sold to others and to avoid disappointment.  If you are a group of less than 8 then please book the number of places you want to take, on one of the open sessions and the remaining places will be filled with other like minded people.

Timings

To make sure we are ready for you, please arrive at your workshop time, rather than before as we will be ready at your session time to offer you a warm welcome.

What to Bring

  • It might be helpful to bring an apron to protect your clothes and also a bin bag to protect your car boot from any excess water from the wreath (although we will drain most of it off). If you have sensitive hands to handling foliage, then you could bring some gardening gloves.

Where to find us

  • The address is Cold Bath Place, off Cold Bath Road, HG2 0PQ.  There is free parking in and around the streets adjacent to us and also on Cold Bath Road.  If you are attending an evening session from 7pm-9pm please can you avoid parking on Cold Bath Place as parking is limited after residents return from work and we don’t want to upset our neighbours  Click here to see the map

Accessibility

  • Due to the number of hats we now have we are unable to hold the workshop downstairs in the studio so as in previous years we will be holding the workshops in our studio upstairs, unfortunately this is not accessible to wheelchair users and those who have limited mobility as the stairs are steep.  We apologies for this, do get in touch if you have any questions.

Health and Safety!

  • We are limiting the number to 8 students in an open session and there will be plenty of room and space around the large table in the studio.
  • We will wipe down with antibacterial spray on all surfaces, handrails etc after each session.
  • We will be diffusing antibacterial essential oils throughout the studio.
  • We will ask that you sanitise your hands on entering the studio.
  • Please can we ask that if you have any contagious symptoms or any other transmittable illness i.e. a cold or cough please don’t attend the workshop, we would be more than happy to create you a wreath, so you don’t miss out.  It’s really important that we don’t risk each other’s health especially in the run up to Christmas when we all want to see friends and family.
