No current dates please enquire – Studio Course (3 day) – Intermediate Millinery

Who is this Retreat for?

• This is a retreat for those who have explored already the basic millinery materials but may have gaps in their experience and want to further their understanding of the use of any requested materials.  Students will have the opportunity to choose to create a crown and brim hat, bias brim hat, veiling brim hat or create a crin brim headpiece amongst other techniques which can be requested.
• The retreat will be kept to 4 students

The course is based in our studio in Harrogate, North Yorkshire

What is the investment?

• The cost of the retreat has been kept competitive and accommodation options are available (see below)
• The cost of 3 days tuition is £395

What’s included:

• 9.30 – 4pm tuition (45 mins lunch) free use of the studio, equipment, blocks until 6pm
• NB – No meals are included but we may decide to eat out together on a few nights
• No materials are included you need to bring your own or if available I can charge you for materials you take from my material stock at current supplier prices.

What will I learn?

• You will fill out a questionnaire which you are sent prior to the retreat asking you what you are struggling with both practically and business wise.  You will also be asked what new techniques you would like to learn; this could be anything from working with new materials, different blocking techniques, new shapes, new trims including flowers, bows, extensions.  The schedule will be aimed at the intermediate level of millinery.  As part of the course, you will have the opportunity to access all our blocks over 300 and from working with these we will also be able to stretch your ability in a safe space in order for your to further your skills base..

Here is a little more information;

Our address is Cold Bath Place, off Cold Bath Road, HG2 0PQ.  There is free parking in and around the streets adjacent to us and also on Cold Bath Road, if possible avoid parking outside the shop as we may have clients coming in and out.

There are lots of lovely sandwich shops to find lunch and we will as always provide teas and coffees and snacks throughout the day, should you want to bring your lunch we have a fridge.

Please can you bring with you an apron and a bag to take your work home with you.  Also best not to wear clothes that might snag or ruin.
